Today’s Task

This is it – the last day!! We’ve made it to 31st January together.

Before we get to today’s task, I just want to say thank you!

It’s been great to share the Jump with you. Thank you for getting involved. Thank you to those of you who also got your friends, families and colleagues involved, and to everyone who contributed questions or shared our posts on social media. You are now all officially “January Jumpers”!

Now for Today’s Task – and a Treat!

I hope you will use your Jump time today to reflect on your original goals, to consider what you’ve achieved, and to pat yourself on the back.

Take a little time to check off the tasks you have successfully completed over the past few weeks.

Perhaps you have completed all 17 Tasks, in which case, very well done! You have set yourself up for a fantastic 2018 and have taken concrete steps to making the changes you wanted in your working life. I hope it feels great!

But maybe you have missed a few tasks along the way, or you still have a some partially finished tasks to complete.  Maybe work or life got busy and the Jump was just one thing too many to squeeze into your days but you kept following the posts and plan to do them later.  That’s also great.

You can complete the Jump in your own time, step by step.  Simply do the Tasks in order, so that you can get the most from your efforts.  Even if you only do one Task each week, you will still be making real progress towards you goals and that’s what this Jump process is all about.

If you would like a little more inspiration about how to fit the Jump into your busy life, you can revisit our very first post, Let’s Go (Task 1), which sets out a few ideas for finding extra time in your day.

Now for your treat!

I hereby “bequeath” you one entirely calorie-free slice of cake or a dessert of your choice. Or a cocktail or glass of wine or your favourite chocolate bar.  You choose!

Your treat is calorie-free since you have definitely used up the equivalent calories across the last few weeks – if not in running around to meetings or exploring new places, then in pure brainpower!  #notscientificallyprovensorry #enjoyyourtreatanyway

Or, if you’d prefer, read a new book, download a new podcast, or treat yourself to a movie. Or just put your feet up and enjoy a peaceful, and well deserved, cuppa.

Enjoying a special treat or sharing your progress updates with friends and family are great ways to acknowledge your efforts and successes.  We hope the January Jump has given you the skills, confidence and motivation to carry on and achieve all your personal career goals. Good luck!

And now we have a quick favour to ask…
